Pittsburgh When it comes time to select the 20th choice overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a lot of alternatives at their disposal, but Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report suggests they steer clear of one man.
Ballentine believes that Alabama’s Kool-Aid McKinstry, a cornerback, is a strong player and that the Steelers should consider selecting him at No. 20, but that the team cannot afford to pass up the opportunity to strengthen their offensive line.
“The Pittsburgh Steelers may be tempted to pair the Alabama product with Joey Porter Jr. if he’s still on the board at No. 20,” Ballentine stated. However, with Porter, Patrick Peterson, and Levi Wallace covering cornerback positions, the Steelers finished 10th in passing rating allowed the previous season. The offense, meanwhile, finished 23rd in EPA per play and 28th in scoring, in part because to a subpar offensive line.
Over the course of three seasons with the Crimson Tide, McKinstry totaled 93 tackles, 5 for a loss, 2 interceptions, and 23 passes defended in 42 games. He also occasionally contributed as a punt returner.
