There was a lot of conjecture about Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers during the NFL offseason. It was not the case that the two sides broke apart, despite the widespread predictions to the contrary. Instead, Tomlin is preparing to lead the team into another campaign.
Over the years, Tomlin has been one of the most successful coaches in NFL history. In reality, he has never led the Steelers to a losing campaign.
Sports expert Colin Cowherd made an odd forecast, implying that Tomlin would be let go by the Steelers following the 2024 NFL season.
It’s a little ambitious to make that kind of projection based only on the last six games of a 17-game season. It’s obvious from Cowherd’s comments that he believes the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a difficult season this year. But there’s also a big mistake with the forecast that Tomlin is “going to be on a network broadcasting.”
In no time, Tomlin would be picked up by another team if the Steelers were to let him go. He is unquestionably among the NFL’s greatest coaches.
The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to have progressed from the previous campaign. For those who don’t recall, Tomlin had extremely subpar quarterbacking to lead the team to the playoffs. Pittsburgh improved throughout the summer, not deteriorated.

It will be interesting to see how Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers start out their 2024 campaign. They have quite a few new faces on the roster and hopefully they can all come together quickly. With Tomlin leading the way, the playoffs are always a very real possibility.
