Breaking: Russell Wilson sent a video message to P-Steelers after training, talking about his first season and optimistic outlook.

During the 2024 NFL free agency session, the Pittsburgh Steelers strengthened their starting quarterback position. Russell Wilson, a former quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks who is now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, joined Pittsburgh. Wilson also shared a motivational video with his followers in the midst of his arrival.

Wilson shared the saying “Enjoy Your Work.” Wednesday, he posted on his X page, “The Best is Ahead.” The seven-word declaration was followed by a video of Wilson engaging in a variety of throwing exercises:

Following his selection by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Russell Wilson began his professional career with the organization. With 3,118 yards and 26 touchdowns in his rookie campaign, the former Wisconsin Badger was named to his first Pro Bowl.

He carried on with his robust output in the ensuing seasons. But 2014 was a unique year.

With a 13-3 regular season record, the 2013–14 Seahawks secured the NFC’s top seed. Wilson contributed significantly to the team’s success, of course. Over the year, he passed for 3,357 yards and 26 touchdowns.

His mastery of the offense enabled Seattle to defeat Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos 43-8 in the Super Bowl, earning the franchise its one and only championship. Wilson’s achievements didn’t end there. He was honored in his rookie and sophomore seasons in addition to winning seven more Pro Bowls while playing with the Seahawks.

Wilson played in Seattle for ten seasons in all, with his ninth season being one of his best. In 16 games, the seasoned quarterback racked up 4,212 yards and a career-high 40 touchdowns. But the next season saw a modest decline in his output, and by 2022, he had left the organization to play in Denver.

Wilson’s arrival to the Broncos did not go as expected. In his debut season, the squad finished 5-12 and missed the playoffs. Even though he led the team to an 8–9 improvement in 2023–24, it was insufficient to qualify for the postseason.

After his sophomore season, Wilson was able to sign a free agent contract and decided to join the Steelers, who were already a successful team.

With a new-look Pittsburgh squad, Wilson appears to be fully recovered.
Russell Wilson just had a season in which he completed 15 games with 3,070 yards and 26 touchdown passes. With so many talented players on the Steelers roster, he hopes to return to his peak.

The most notable returner for Pittsburgh is third-year wide receiver George Pickens, who is in his prime. The 23-year-old caught six passes for 1,140 yards and five touchdowns, good for 16th place in the league. In 2023–2024, Pickens ought to be among Wilson’s top objectives.

Additionally, Najee Harris, a rising fourth-year running back who just finished a fantastic season on the ground, is still with Pittsburgh. Wison’s passing game should be relieved of some of its pressure thanks to Harris’ dependable rushing attack.

The Steelers also gave Wilson excellent backup support. In the NFL free agency period, Pittsburgh acquired Justin Fields, a former quarterback for the Chicago Bears, as Kenney Pickett exited.
