Breaking: Baltimore approves $60 million in bridge reconstruction with Gorvens video records, following the confirmation of a $10 million agreement.

The past two weeks have not been easy for Baltimore. The city’s Major League Baseball (MLB) and National Football League (NFL) teams have offered financial support to aid with the restoration of the well-known Baltimore Bridge, which collapsed on March 26.

Recently, the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens announced that they would be pooling their enormous $10 million donation to support the restoration of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, also known as the Baltimore Bridge. The Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund, established by the Baltimore Community Foundation to aid with the reconstruction of the bridge as well as to provide support to families, communities, first responders, port employees, and small businesses impacted by the tragedy, has received $5 million from each team.

It is an honor for the Ravens to assist the people and businesses in Maryland that have been impacted by the Francis Scott Key Bridge recovery work. We have no doubt that in this hour of extreme need, Baltimore and Maryland will continue to show incredible fortitude and resiliency. The statement from Steve Bisciotti said

Owner of the Orioles, David M. Rubenstein, thanked Governor Wes Moore for providing the Ravens and Orioles with a chance to show their support. They also included a link in their joint statement so that people might donate whatever amount they felt was appropriate.

On March 26, at first light, a cargo ship struck the bridge and nearly destroyed it as it entered the Port of Baltimore. Three of the six construction workers who are believed dead have had their remains found; the remaining three are still listed as missing.

Since the story broke in the mainstream media and on social media, the Orioles and Ravens have both stated their support. The cargo ship’s famous collision is known as “The Star-Spangled Banner,” honoring the songwriter of the country’s anthem.

When the emergency personnel arrived at the scene a short while after the collapse, the first responders dove into the river to save the collapse victims. The governor of Baltimore is requesting about $60 million to restore the bridge as soon as possible in light of the devastation.
