GOOD NEWS: Bears QB Fields will be traded to Las Vegas because of…

As the 2024 NFL draft approaches, it appears inevitable that the Chicago Bears will trade quarterback Justin Fields and select USC Trojans prospect Caleb Williams, sparking trade talks between Fields and several other NFL teams, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Recently, there has been speculation that the Las Vegas Raiders would make a bid for Justin Fields. According to SportsKeeda’s Tony Pauline, the Raiders have a “genuine” interest in fields, and GM Tom Telesco wants a big-name quarterback.

Justin Fields has unfollowed the Chicago Bears on Instagram. In the same move, he followed numerous Atlanta Falcons talents, including running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London, and tight end Kyle Pitts.

The Falcons surpassed the Steelers as the odds-on favorite to sign Fields this offseason. The Steelers still have the second-best odds to sign Fields, but speculation about Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has led their odds to fall.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and head coach Mike Tomlin are trying to increase competition for their current quarterback, Kenny Pickett. Tomlin told The Athletic that competition should assist Pickett at the very least.

“There will be competition,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin stated last month. “There is always competition in this thing. We do not anoint anyone. (Pickett) will face increased competition in the future. Competition brings out the best in each of us.

Justin Fields has improved more than Kenny Pickett in his brief stint as the Chicago Bears’ quarterback. If he does not inspire Pickett to improve, he has the potential to become the Steelers’ starting quarterback.

Fields threw for roughly 500 yards more than Pickett in 2023, although appearing in only one more game. Pickett’s 16 passing touchdowns in 2023 are more than his whole career total. Fields also brings rushing potential that Pickett does not have, as he rushed for 1,143 yards in 2022.

Pickett has an advantage over Fields in terms of ball control. Fields has thrown at least nine interceptions in every year he has played, whereas Pickett’s interception total plummeted to four in 2023. Fields has also fumbled 16 times in his career, and the Steelers’ meticulous defense cannot tolerate a high turnover rate.
